In this 6-week course led by Creative Writer and Illustrator Lou Pecsi, students ages 8-14 will learn about the art of storytelling and try their hand at creating original stories, characters, and visuals that draw readers in. This course will walk students through examples of stories in cave paintings, comic books, and children books and will cover creative writing fundamentals including tropes, story arcs, and character development. By the end of the course, each student will have their own illustrated short story in progress to present.
Markeim is adhering with NJ state COVID safety guidelines; masks are required for the duration of the class, and students and MAC staff/teachers will be intentionally spaced out 6-feet apart to ensure physical distancing. Registration is limited to 10 kids.
Louis Pecsi is a published artist and writer based out of NJ. Louis’ illustrated stories range from children’s books to graphic novels and include titles such as: Billy and the Bronto (2015), The Awakened Poe (2014), and Nosferatu the Untold Origin (2014). Louis works in both traditional and digital mediums, fusing art and text in such a way that his readers are transported into the unique worlds he has created. Simply put, Louis just really enjoys creating.
