Have you been looking for opportunities to prepare your young one for kindergarten next fall? Join the Markeim for our new Spring Kindergarten Foundations and Prep series, led by instructor Caitlin Moratti. In this 6-week course, students ages 4-5 will practice basic social skills while learning fundamentals of the alphabet and numbers through fun and engaging activities. Students coming out of this program will be prepared to take on kindergarten in the fall with confidence. Caitlin will be introducing phonics using the Wilson Program called Fundations and will be integrating math skills throughout the lessons.
Class is limited to 10 students and will be held in Markeim’s outdoors yard. Students should be prepared to wear their masks and remain physically distant from other participants for the duration of the class.
To prepare students for kindergarten in the fall, we suggest that parents plan to drop off their children for these class sessions. If a parent, however, is more comfortable remaining on site they are more than welcome to do so; in that case we encourage parents to step back and allow their little ones to interact and learn on their own within the group, in order to promote the development of pro-social skills and independence.
Hello! My name is Caitlin Moratti, and I was a Kindergarten teacher for several years before deciding to stay home with my two little girls. My original career path was in finance but after working at a large firm for a few years I knew that I had to follow my dream of becoming a teacher! I have a master’s degree in Elementary Education as well as a Graduate certificate in Special Education. I loved teaching Kindergarten and want to continue preparing children to become lifelong learners! I look forward to helping your child prepare for this next big milestone!
