Week 3: July 5-July 9 & Week 4: July 12-July 16 | American Pop Culture, Imagery, & Icons
Ages 4-12 (campers should be able to use the bathroom independently)
Summertime is almost upon us, and so is Markeim’s annual summer camp (revamped with your feedback in mind). Markeim is pleased to announce our weeks 3 and 4 of camp on July 5-July 9 and July 12-July 16: American Pop Culture, Imagery, & Icons. In addition to learning about American history through the lens of the arts, campers will also learn about what it means to be innovative and the diversity that has shaped America into what it is today. Similar to prior years, we are offering multiple camp attendance options:
- Morning session, 9:00 am-12:00 pm | $275/week Member, $300/week Nonmember
- Afternoon session, 1:00-4:00 pm | $275/week Member, $300/week Nonmember
- Full day session, 9:00 am-4:00 pm | $550/week Member, $600/week Nonmember
Camp registration will be limited to 36 campers per session (am and pm), which will be split up into 3 cohorts of campers based on age and ability level. Campers will spend the day alternating between indoors and outdoors activities with their primary counselor and will also participate in specialty classes throughout the week including yoga, dance, clay/ceramics, etc. Markeim has designed every day differently in order to expand our campers’ minds.
At the end of week 4, Markeim will host an art show featuring camper artwork from these both weeks 3 & 4. Campers only attending week 3 may opt in to leave select works of theirs for the exhibit, which may be picked up from the Markeim on or after July 19.
To comply with COVID-safety regulations, groups will be kept separate to ensure proper physical distancing and all registrants and Markeim staff will be required to wear a mask for the duration of camp.
