This 6 week class will explore traditional drawing techniques such as use of line, mass drawing, value, and cross-hatching, and will focus on building observational drawing skills. Students will sample a variety of mediums for drawing, such as charcoal, graphite, chalk pastel, colored pencil, and oil pastel. Students will draw from life and from photos, working on landscapes, portraits, still-lifes and more. Students will also learn how to critique each other’s artwork with constructive criticism. A studio setting means that this course will fit every skill level, from beginner to experienced artists.
