Art of Nature Winter 2021: Ages 5-9, Wednesdays 3:00 pm, Outdoors, 4-weeks

January 11th, 2021

Markeim Arts Center is proud to once again offer The Art of Nature to kick off Winter 2021, and this time we’re offering classes for preschool and elementary age children! This 8-week series led by Lynn Raus (Haddonfield parent, Landscape Architect and Temple Adjunct Professor, and Markeim teacher) will be held on the grounds of the Markeim with field trips to Crows Woods and will engage children in age-appropriate activities that focus on nature and are structured to inspire curiosity, creativity, and wellness through physical activity and exploration.

All 1:00 pm sessions will remain outdoors entirely and will be limited to 12 participants. In the case of extreme weather or temperatures that drop below 30 degrees, sessions will be rescheduled at the conclusion of the series. Regardless of session time, plan to dress appropriately for an outdoors adventure! All sessions will begin the first week of February. Please see day and time options below.

To ensure the safety of Markeim staff and visitors, social distancing and masks will be required at all times.

As a landscape architect, adjunct professor and mother of three busy, big kids, Lynn Raus has enjoyed sharing her passion for the natural world and art with many different generations in a variety of environments. After a decade of leading the Lizzie Haddon School Garden Program and many years as a Tinkergarten leader at Crows Woods, she is excited to join the creative team at the Markeim to bring a new nature-inspired program for children to the center. She believes that children thrive from time spent exploring and learning in nature and she looks forward to continuing to guide your children in exploration and fun!
