Join the Markeim Arts Center in welcoming our fall exhibitor, Anthony Johnson, at our opening reception on September 25 from 4:00-8:00 pm. The reception will include a happy hour sponsored by Double Nickel Brewery (4:00-8:00 pm), a kids activity table (4:00-8:00 pm), and an artist talk and Q&A (beginning at 6:00 pm).

About the Artist: Anthony Johnson is an artist and father of 3 based out of Collingswood, NJ. Johnson’s practice is centered in neo expressionism, with inspiration and subject matter pulling from his daily life and, most importantly, the memories and experiences he’s gained from childhood into his adult life. Johnson is a self-taught artist and has been perfecting his practice since 2015, which is centered in mixed media and employs the use of oil, acrylic, spray paint, pastels, and resin. Johnson creates exquisite works of art that tell the life stories of Johnson as well as of those of his loved ones and the community around him. Johnson considers himself extremely blessed to have a family while also enjoying quality time pursuing his passion of painting.
