Rumored to be the secret love child Sophia Loren and Peter Sellers, Suzanne Gili Post planted her roots in the post-punk mu sic scene which spored out of NYC’s lower east side throughout the 1980’s and 90’s. She wrote and performed on musical recordings produced by Music Maniac Records and collaborated with the Rift Arts Forum on various avant-garde projects, including performances at the Red Room, off Broadway and songwriting with Michael Brown of the Left Banke. She’s contributing more recently to poetry, discussions groups, poetry workshops and story-telling gatherings – having the pleasure of presenting at such well known venues as The Walt Whitman Cultural Center, the Bowery Poetry Club, the Knitting Factory, CBGB’s Gallery, Haitian Migrant Worker Outreach, Katz JCC and the William Carlos Williams Poetry Cooperation.
“When it comes to photography, I rarely think of a thing when I take the shot. My style relies entirely on responding to the random and spontaneous experience at hand and my point and shoot camera bears the battle scars of always being at the wrong place at the right time. I shoot much like a graffiti artist in that I’m in and out as quick as possible but instead of leaving behind a picture, I take the image with me and thus share it with you, hoping somehow the shapes and color will capture your imagination”.
