Carol grew up in Pennsauken, NJ, Carol Lotstein, after high school she attended Moore College of Art and Design and graduated in 1977 with a BFA. She married her high school sweetheart, Alan Gartzman, had two children, Sheera and Steven. In 1985 she became a widow and eventually married Bruce Gooberman and had two more children, Evan and Marcy. They now live in Haddonfield, NJ.
She works in pastel colors using bright sun light to create colorful shadows and reflections. Her work has been described as “soft realism”. She paints Victorian themes with women and children, beach scenes, cats, sunsets, etc. She especially enjoys when someone sees her work and feels that each picture is a happy reminder of a family member, a cat or a special scene.
She also enjoys painting portraits from photographs that she take or photos the client provides for her.
