Opening Reception Saturday, April 16
“Service above Self” is the motto of the Rotary club. This exhibition is a great example of that.
Mike Bloom was a well-known area architect and Rotarian for over 40 years. Since his retirement, he has turned his energies to making art – and what a prolific artist he is. In just the last few years he has created hundreds of paintings, wood and metal pieces, kinetic sculpture and jewelry.
Recently, some art connoisseurs and critics visited Mike’s studio. They suggested that Mike bring his art work to New York City . Instead, Mike kept his art local and donated his work to this exhibit. All net proceeds from this exhibit will be split equally between the Rotary Club of Haddonfield and Markeim Arts Center.
Of his art, Mike says, “My art is personal. Hopefully to others my art leads the viewer to wherever they want to go. The art is not a tell all. Like observing clouds, it is what the observer sees. It should feed the viewers imagination and both ask and help answer questions.”
The opening reception for this exhibition will be on Saturday, April 16 from 7 -10 PM. Catered hors d’oeuvres and an open bar are included. Tickets to the event are $30 each/$50 per pair.
