Valerie loves animals and a large part of her photography passion is devoted to the world of animal/pet photography. In her spare time, she photographs homeless animals for several local rescues/shelters in order to increase their chances of being adopted. In 2012, she was accepted as a member of HeARTs Speak, a global network of animal photographers, artists, authors, graphic designers, and advocates who believe in the power of collaboration and dedicate their time and talent to improving and saving the lives of animals. As the owner and founder of her own photography studio, together with years of involvement with all facets of animal rescue, the marriage of her entrepreneurial spirit and love of all things furry made her gravitation towards pet portraiture a natural extension. Her photography has a oneness of purpose – to capture an image that exemplifies the personality of every subject that she photographs. A perpetual student of the digital arts, she balances her time between her not-for-profit work and searching for the perfect landscape/cityscape/nightscape photography location. She can often be found exploring the Eastern seaboard with her camera bag, a Starbucks decaf and a hooded sweatshirt containing not-so-subtle traces of canine hair.
Her work has been seen in Local Living Magazine, Great Destinations, NJ, American Dog Magazine, the Unexpected Pit Bull Calendar and 2016 and 2017 editions of the Petco Foundation calendar. Although landscape photography was her first love and pet photography has become and remains a primary passion, she loves working with couples and families too and being part of capturing their treasured moments.
