Bob Hochgertel has been a professional artist for more than 25 years, working as a painter, illustrator and designer. He began his career in 1984 while still in college. He tackled freelance design, illustration and mural projects for clients in and around the city of Philadelphia to help pay for his education. Bob established a small but reliable pool of clients while still in school that enabled him to formally start his own company immediately after he graduated from the Philadelphia College of Art with a BFA in 1985.
He has worked for a variety of national and international clients in the advertising, entertainment and publishing. His work has also been exhibited in a variety of galleries, schools and museums across the country. He is an associate professor at the Pennsylvania College of Art & Design where he also serves as the Illustration Department Chairman.
Bob has been a long-time resident of Haddonfield, where he lives with his wife Linda, and his daughters, Alexis and Ainsley. They are all artists and made guest appearances in his recently published illustrated book, The ABC’s of Philadelphia. Learn more and see his work by visiting www.abcsofphiladelphia.com.
