The United States has 59 protected areas known as National Parks that are operated by the national Park Service. Criteria for the selection of National Parks include natural beauty, unique geological features, unusual ecosystems, and recreational opportunities — although these criteria are not always considered together.
Marianne Leone has been a landscape and wildlife photographer for 15 years and has visited over 25 National Parks and beautiful places in our great America. In this exhibit from Yellowstone to Shenandoah she will share her best images and compositions. Marianne is currently being featured in a documentary about ordinary people causing the extraordinary to make a difference in the world. She is a member of National Wildlife Federation, World Wildlife Fund, National Parks Conservation Association, Defenders of Wildlife, The Nature Conservancy, Natural Resources Defense Council, Sierra Club, Outdoor Photographer, Sustainable Business Network of Greater Philadelphia, Philadelphia Photo Arts Center, America’s First Zoo Camera Club, and most proudly, Markeim Arts Center.
